Wisconsin's pitching was lights out in a 2-0 shutout of Kalamazoo, while Duluth walked off in the 10th inning against Waterloo. Meanwhile, Lakeshore continued their winning ways with a seventh consecutive win as they have been absolutely unbeatable and sit with just three losses and a .850 winning percentage through the first 20 games of the second half.

Wisconsin 2, Kalamazoo 0

NWL Pitcher of the Night Andy Ravel (Kent St) struck out six over seven shutout innings, leading the Woodchucks to a 2-0 victory over Kalamazoo to pick up a series sweep. The Growlers stranded 14 runners on base and fell, despite outhitting Wisconsin 9-6. The bullpen shut down Kalamazoo over the last two innings and Woodchucks pitching was locked in, finishing with 11 strikeouts. Austin Tribby (Missouri) picked up his first save of the season for Wisconsin, who've won seven of their last ten and hold onto to second place in the Southern Division behind Lakeshore.

Duluth 6, Waterloo 5 (10 innings)

In a slugfest that went almost three hours and saw 26 combined hits, Duluth's Dominic Miroglio (UCLA)- a defensive replacement- hit a walkoff RBI single to complete a come-from-behind win. The Huskies tied it in the bottom of the ninth after Waterloo had pulled ahead in the seventh before they won in extras. Steve Villines (Kansas) threw a pair of shutout innings in relief to pick up the win, which pulled Duluth two games within .500 on the second half of the season.

Lakeshore 4, Madison 1

A two-run fifth broke open a 1-1 game as the Chinooks rode a stellar outing from Sterling Koerner (FGCU) to down the Mallards. Koerner went five innings and gave up just one run on four hits while striking out three to lower his season ERA to 1.31 and pick up his fourth win. He was boosted by a solo home run from Connor McKay (Kansas) and a two-RBI night from Jake Noll (FGCU). Andrew Elliot (Wright St) recorded his 11th save for Lakeshore, who've now won eight of their last ten and are without a doubt the hottest team in the Northwoods.

Rochester 4, Battle Creek 1

Rochester scored three runs in the seventh to break open a 1-1 tie and down the Bombers, a 4-1 victory that was their fourth in a row. Corey Hassel (Oklahoma St) drove in a pair of runs to carry the Honkers. Starter Seth Holbert (Sam Houston State) took a no-decision despite giving up just one run over seven strong innings with seven strikeouts. Reliever Will Bamesberger (Creighton) threw a shutout inning for the win while Nick Highberger (Creighton) earned his second save of the season.

Thunder Bay 8, Willmar 2

A late rally from the Stingers wasn't even close to enough as the Border Cats coasted to an 8-2 win. Yuji Suzuki (Concordia) went the complete game for Thunder Bay and gave up ten hits but stranded eight Willmar hitters on base while giving up just two earned runs and striking out three. Six different Border Cats recorded a RBI, including Nick Studer's (Doane) 29th of the season. It was just Thunder Bay's fourth win of the second half.

Alexandria 8, Mankato 2

NWL Player of the Night Craig Nenning (Ohio State) drove in two runs with a pair of doubles on a 4-4 night to carry Alexandria to an 8-2 win over Mankato. The Blue Anchors picked up a series split to improve to 7-14, riding a seven-run sixth to victory. Starter Jason Zgardowski (Angelo St) threw six shutout innings with four strikeouts, and the Alexandria bullpen gave up a pair of runs late. Tennig was backed by a three-RBI day from Jordan Lee (Texas Corpus-Christi) and two more from Dalton Leuschke (North Dakota).

St. Cloud 5, Eau Claire 4

Eau Claire rallied for three runs in the eight but they couldn't overcome an early 5-1 deficit as the Rox picked up a 5-4 victory. Tim Faix (Kent St) threw five one-run innings with five strikeouts and St. Cloud overcame a shaky relief appearance from Dalton Sawyer. Ben Lumsden (Mercer) worked around a walk in the ninth with three strikeouts for his second save. Only two Rox were credited with RBIs in St. Cloud's second win in a row.

Green Bay 10, La Crosse 8

Four different multi-run innings carried Green Bay to a 10-8 win, overcoming a five run fourth to down the Loggers, 10-8. Ryne Birk (Texas A&M) drove in three runs in the losing effort for La Crosse as the Bullfrogs had six different members of their lineup record RBIs. Green Bay scored three runs in the first, then two, three and two again. They piled up 11 hits and capitalized on five Loggers errors as four of the ten runs were unearned.

Kenosha 5, Wisconsin Rapids 3

A five-run fifth carried Kenosha to a 5-3 win over Wisconsin Rapids. Alex Borglin hit a two-run single, Taylor Douglas followed with a RBI double and a sacrifice fly and a Pat Porter single later had put the Kingfish up for good, erasing an early 3-0 deficit. Just one run was earned as errors plagued the Rafters, with Jake Cage (Azua Pacific) being handed the loss and getting charged five runs. It was Kenosha's fifth win in a row as they remain tied for second in the South.
