Green Bay 6, Madison 4

The start of a eight-game road trip in eight days was kicked off well by the Bullfrogs, as they picked up their fourth win in a row. Green Bay used a two-run fifth to break a 3-3 tie and pulled away for a 6-3 win. All six runs were charged to Sterling Sharp (Eastern Michigan), who saw hsis ERA rise to 4.69 on the summer. Ryan Howell (Chabot) hit a two-run home run while Zac Westcott (Nova Southeastern) pitched into the seventh and struck out five for the win, while Ivan Vieitez (Lenoir-Rhyne) picked up his fourth save with his ninth straight scoreless inning.

Waterloo 6, Thunder Bay 1

A five-run fourth and a strong start from Landon Simpson (Arkansas) carried the Bucks to a 6-1 win over Thunder Bay. Simpson gave up just one run over five innings as he struck out three while all but two members of the Waterloo lineup recorded a hit. Kevin Kaczmarski (Evansville) hit a solo home run and three other Bucks recorded RBIs. Charles Thielmann (Kean) was hammered for five runs on eight hits for his third loss of the season.

Kenosha 4, Kalamazoo 2

Despite being out-hit 10-5, the Growlers couldn't overcome a four-run eighth from Kenosha as the Kingfish picked up a 4-2 victory. Rex Morrow (Madison Col) gave up eight hits but worked around it as he pitched into the seventh for the win. Ryan Smoyer (Notre Dame) was cruising through seven shutout innings but ran into trouble and couldn't escape the eighth. He was charged with all four runs- a season high- but none of them were earned.

La Crosse 6, Willmar 5

Jack Meggs (Washington) hit a two-run walkoff home run to carry La Crosse to a come-from-behind 6-5 win. Meggs went 2-4, with his clutch hit coming off of reliever Brady Anderson (FGCU)- neither of his runs were earned, however, as an error prolonged the inning. Jacob Dorris (Texas A&M Corpus-Christi) struck out two over a pair of shutout innings for the win. Nick Rivera (FGCU) and Dan Motl (Minnesota) both hit home runs as Motl picked up three hits.

Rochester 8, Eau Claire 1

Matt Kent (Texas A&M) turned in a stellar NWL Pitcher of the Night performance to carry Rochester to their fifth straight win. Kent lowered his ERA to take the league lead while he tied the leader in strikeouts as he struck out five over eight innings of one-run ball. He had plenty of offensive support, with every member of the Honkers lineup recording a hit. Reid Roper (Illinois) hit a home run on a two-RBI day, while teammate Tanner Buenting (Iowa Central CC) drove in a pair of runs as well.

St. Cloud 10, Duluth 3

NWL Player of the Night Will Craig (Wake Forest) drove in five runs and scored twice on a 2-3 night as both of his hits were home runs. He hit a three-run home run in the fourth and then added a solo shot with one out in the sixth. Reese Gregory (St. Cloud St) gave up just two earned runs while striking out six to pick up his fifth win of the season and lower his ERA to 2.16. Trevor Charpie (Tennessee) went three shutout innings for his second save of the summer.

Wisconsin 3, Battle Creek 2

Good pitching and timely hitting was key in a 3-2 Woodchucks win over Battle Creek. A two-out, RBI single from Jake Scudder (Iowa Western) in the sixth inning ended up being the difference. Robby Medel (TCU) struck out eight over seven strong innings as he gave up just two earned runs while not issuing a walk. Patrick Kenney (Purdue) picked up his first save of the season in his 20th appearance.

Lakeshore 17, Wisconsin Rapids 11

In a four-hour slugfest, Lakeshore downed the Rafters 17-11 in a game that saw the teams combine for 31 hits. All but one member of the Chinooks starting lineup recorded a RBI, led by three runs driven in by Brett Siddall (Cansius). Connor McKay (Kansas) scored three times and added a home run on a two-RBI, three runs scored night. Reliever Parker Sanburn (Askansas) threw two strong innings in relief to pick up a win in his first appearance of the season for the Chinooks. It was Lakeshore's eighth win in a row.

Alexandria 13, Mankato 11

Jeremy Hyde (Montavallo) and Craig Nennig (Ohio State) both drove in three runs as Mankato overcame a late two-run rally as they had a big enough lead. Lukas Hermanson (Texas-Corpus Christi) went 2-3 with three walks and a pair of RBIs and starter Zack Muckenhirn (North Dakota) went five strong innings and gave up four runs but had enough run support.
