Lakeshore scored 18 runs- for the second straight night in a row. The Chinooks incredible run, an 11-game win streak, continued with an 18-3 rout of Mankato as they swept the MoonDogs, scoring 36 runs in two games. They've scored 65 runs over their last five games, outscoring their opponents by more then 40 runs. Rochester's pitching also held St. Cloud to two hits in an exciting 2-0 pitchers duel.

Waterloo 11, Thunder Bay 6

An eight-run fourth was plenty of offense as Waterloo fended off a ninth inning rally for an 11-6 win over the Border Cats. Eric Veglahn (St. Thomas) went seven innings in his first start of the summer and allowed just two earned runs on four hits while striking out four. He lowered his season ERA to 1.45 over five total appearances and picked up his second win of the season. Veglahn had plenty of run support to work with as the Bucks scored 11 runs for the second time in the past three games. Ryan Nagle (Illinois) led the way with threee RBIs, while teammates Kevin Kaczmarski (Evansville) and Pat MacKenzie (Central Michigan) both drove in two.

Duluth 5, Eau Claire 1

The Express took their seventh loss in their last ten games as they've continued to fall from the top of the Northern Division. Duluth downed Eau Claire, 5-1, in a rain-shortened game that lasted just five innings. The Huskies put up two runs in the first and added three more in the third to back a complete game- all of five innings- from Chris Kelly (Gustavus Adolphus). Kelly gave up just one run on three hits while striking out a pair in his first start for Duluth. Just two of the five Huskies runs were earned, one coming on a RBI double from Vinnie Rodriguez (Montevallo).

Battle Creek 4, Green Bay 3

Dillon Engle (Lake County) turned in a quality start and the Bombers fought off a late comeback from the Bullfrogs to sweep Green Bay with back-to-back victories. Engle gave up just one run on four hits over six innings and took a no-descision in his longest appearance of the season, his second start from the bullpen. Teammate Hunter Jobe (Pfeiffer) got one out in the ninth for the save, escaping a jam that reliever Garrett Anderson (St. Cloud St)- who picked up the win- got the Bombers into. Leadoff hitter Anthony Cheky (Michigan St) picked up three hits and a pair of RBIs, while teammate Sebastian Diaz (Miami) drove in a run on a two-double night for Battle Creek. It was the third straight win for the Bombers.

Alexandria 6, Willmar 4 (Game 1, 7 innings)

The first game of a doubleheader, Alexandria rallied for four runs in the fifth to erase an early 4-1 deficit. They chased Stingers starter Brady Anderson (FGCU) with just one out in the fifth as they scored five earned runs off him, tying his season high. He's struggled as of late, with each of his last two starts seeing him allow five plus hits and not get past the fifth- the opposite of the early season Anderson, when he pieced together a 25-inning scoreless streak. Ricky Sanchez (Notre Dame) drove in a pair of runs for the Blue Anchors, who were led by NWL Player of the Night Craig Nennig (Ohio St). Nennig went 3-3 with a pair of runs scored, two RBIs, a double and a home run as he came a triple short of the cycle.

Rochester 2, St. Cloud 0

A pitching duel went down in St. Cloud- and even though the home team had the NWL Pitcher of the Night, Rochester pulled out a victory. Nick Jensen-Clagg (Kent State) went seven innings and gave up just one run on four hits while striking out 11- but was handed a loss. The Rox offense struggled mightily against the Honkers trio of pitchers- southpaw starter Michael Freeman (Oklahoma St) turned in seven shutout innings, Brandon Stennis (Doane) went two scoreless for a hold and Nick Highberger (Creighton) recorded a one-out save. St. Cloud was held to just two total hits.

Kenosha 6, La Crosse 4

Kenosha and La Crosse went back-and-forth before the game was sent into a weather delay with Kenosha leading, and was later called a rain shortened complete game. The Kingfish won 6-4 in five innings, sweeping the Loggers.  Both starters left after four innings in a game that saw the Loggers score, Kenosha counter and repeat. The Kingfish eventually came out on top as they used a three-run fifth to jump back ahead of La Crosse after the Loggers scored twice in the top of the frame. Kyle Brooks (North Florida) and Michael Adkins (Middle Tennessee St) both drove in a pair of runs in the win.

Kalamazoo 6, Wisconsin Rapids 1

Ryan Colegate (Ohio Dominican) pitched into the sixth and Devon Bronson (Eastern Michigan) went the rest of the way as they combined to hold the Rafters to one run on five hits in a 6-1 win. Colegate got the win, his second, while Bronson recorded his first save of the summer. They were backed by a pair of two-run innings from the offense, which featured two-RBI nights from Karl Sorensen (St. Cloud St) and Alex Maloney (Ball St). Wisconsin Rapids left 10 runners on base as they couldn't find timely hits.

Lakeshore 18, Mankato 3

Not a typo. The Chinooks scored 18 runs for the second straight night in a row, running their series total against Mankato to 36. They've scored 65 runs over their last four games and have won 11 consecutive and have an incredible 21-3 second half record. Lakeshore scored six in the fourth, three in the fifth and eighth and four more in the sixth. Sawyer Polen (Kent St) went 4-6 with five RBIs with a trio of doubles, while four other Chinooks drove in two runs. Outfielder Ryan Larson (Florida) turned in a scoreless ninth, the second straight game a position player has made an appearance. Evan Kruczynski (East Carolina) gave up just two runs over six innings for his fifth win of the season.

Wisconsin 5, Madison 4

The defending champions skid hit nine as they couldn't complete a rally, falling 5-4 at the hands of Wisconsin. The Mallards scored three runs in the seventh to cut the lead to one, but they couldn't score the tying-run and dropped to 1-9 over their last ten games. Paul DeJong (Illinois State) went 3-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs for the Woodchucks. Three other Wisconsin players drove in a run to back multiple pitchers. Starter Alex Phillips (Arkansas) gave up just one run over four innings, and it was collegiate teammate Zach Barr (Arkansas) who picked up the win with two scoreless innings. Austin Tribby (Missouri) picked up his second save as he worked around a walk with a pair of strikeouts in the ninth.
