Beetles Trim North Lead Monday

ROCHESTER, Minn. (August 6, 2012) – The Alexandria Beetles would take down the first place Stingers in order to come within one game back of first in the North Division. 


Two records were broken on Monday. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters broke a franchise record by winning their 25th game of the season. The Willmar Stingers hit their 60th home run of the season in the top of the ninth inning to break the previous league record of 59. 


Thunder Bay 10, Rochester 5


Jerrick Suiter (TCU) went 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and three runs scored. Both of these teams have Tuesday off. 


Duluth 17, Mankato 5


James Ramsay (South Florida) went 4-for-6 with two RBI and three runs scoredThe MoonDogs will host the Huskies again on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. 


Willmar 7, Alexandria 10


Tanner Vavra (Valparaiso) went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored to help the Beetles gain a game on the Stingers. The series will shift to Willmar on Tuesday for a 7:05 p.m. start. 


Waterloo 1, St. Cloud 5


Lucas Long (Arizona) earned his fourth win of the season as he threw eight innings, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out seven. The Rox will host the Bucks again on Tuesday for a 7:05 p.m. start.


Battle Creek 2, Green Bay 5


Collin Shaw (Texas) picked up two doubles and two RBI to help the Bullfrogs get the win. The Bombers will host the Rafters on Tuesday for a first pitch time of 7:05 p.m. ET. Green Bay will travel to Eau Claire to face the Express at 6:35 p.m. 


Eau Claire 4, La Crosse 13


Bobby Juan (Minnesota) connected for his eighth home run of the season and went 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored. The Loggers will host the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. 


Lakeshore 1, Madison 2


Daniel Gibson (Florida) threw eight innings, allowed one run on five hits and struck out seven to earn his fourth win of the season. The Chinooks will host the Mallards at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday. 


Wisconsin 1, Wisconsin Rapids 11


Bo Henning (Sacramento CC) threw six innings, allowed just one run on four hits and struck out 11 Wisconsin batters. It was his first win with the Rafters.
