Rochester, Minn. — The Battle Creek Bombers kicked off their second round of interleague play with a road trip up to Rochester, Minnesota, home of the Honkers. The Honkers, who the Bombers swept at home in the second week of June, got the better of the Bombers in game one of the two game series winning in comeback fashion, 10-5.

The Honkers strung together six hits and were able to drive in 8 runs in the bottom half of the seventh, giving them a 9-3 lead over the Bombers.

Matt Dacey (Richmond) hit a 2-run shot in the top of the eighth to bring the the deficit to four.

The Honkers responded by scoring one more run to make it 10-5 which is where the game stood at its finish.
