BATTLE CREEK, MI – The Battle Creek Bombers today formally announced the return of Rob Robinson as Field Manager for the 2015 campaign.  Rob and former pitching coach William Murphy finished last season as co-managers for the Bombers.

Robinson is certainly no stranger to the Northwoods League, as he was a NWL All-Star for the Mankato Moondogs in 2011. Following his playing career, Rob started as a student assistant for the Missouri State Bears in the fall of 2012, working his way up to graduate assistant by 2013. During his tenure at Missouri State, Robinson contributed to game planning as well as preparing players mentally and physically on a daily basis, primarily working with catchers. During his tenure as the Bears' graduate assistant, Robinson also served as the bullpen catcher for the Double-A Springfield Cardinals for two seasons.  While Robinson was a member of the Cardinals squad, they were named the 2012 MiLB Team of the Year, winning the Texas League crown. Following his stint as Missouri State, Rob was named an Assistant Coach at Pfeiffer University for the 2014 season, while again focusing on hitting and catching.  After spending this past summer with the Bombers, Rob was announced as the new assistant coach at national power Riverside Community College in Riverside, CA.

With the announcement of the hiring, Coach Robinson added, “I am very honored to be coming back to Battle Creek as the Field Manager for the 2015 season. I look forward to continue to grow as a coach, both professionally and personally. My goal is to leave a lasting impact on each player, and develop them on and off the field. I am extremely excited for the 2015 season. We have already begun signing some very talented athletes from all over the country. I foresee a very bright future for this organization. GO BOMBERS!”

Bombers General Manager Tony Iovieno commented on the selection of Robinson as Field Manager as well stating, “Rob really impressed me during the final month or so of our season.  Yet what truly made this decision so easy was how prepared and motivated Rob was and is to guide this club in 2015. I’m looking forward to him providing some much needed stability, and to working with him on building a talented roster”.

You can catch Coach Robinson and his Battle Creek Bombers take the field this summer at C.O. Brown Stadium. Season Tickets, Mini-Plans, and Group Outings are available now by calling (269)-962-0735 or by e-mailing info@battlecreekbombers.com
