Battle Creek, Mich. – The OnStaff Group Recruiting Trail is bringing two brothers to the 2017 roster from the University of Portland, right-handed pitcher Jake Hawken and outfielder Cody Hawken from Vancouver, Wash.

Jake Hawken, a 6-foot-4 right-handed junior, made 19 appearances and tossed 22.2 innings in relief last season carrying a 4.76 ERA. His ERA improved two-whole earned runs since his freshman year. A product from Union High School, Hawken was coached by University of Portland Hall of Famer Tom Lampkin. Hawken earned All-GSHL as a pitcher in the spring of 2015 and outfielder in 2012. Hawken is majoring in business.

Cody Hawken, a 6-foot-3 sophomore outfielder, started all 35 games for the Pilots as a freshman and hit .197 in his first year. Hawken reeled in 17 RBIs and slugged four home runs. Also a product of coach Lampkin and Union High School, Hawken was named Washington State Gatorade Player of the Year in 2015, along with Louisville Slugger High School All-American Honors. He set numerous offensive records as a senior, hitting .464 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs. Hawken has not declared a major yet.
