Battle Creek, Mich. – The Battle Creek Bombers got their first complete game of the season from Tommy Parsons (Adrian) as the Bombers would defeat Lakeshore 3-0 in game two of the series.

Parson (3-0) would complete the game in shutout fashion, allowing only five hits while he struck out six.  With the win the Bombers would also sweep the Chinooks, their fifth of the season.

It was a pitcher duel throughout, as Chinooks starter Shane Smith (Miami-Ohio) went into the seventh inning allowing no runs.  That would change with a lead off home run from JD Mundy (Virginia Tech), his sixth of the year.  Mundy finished the night going 2-4 at the plate.

Nick Walker (Austin Peay State University) would double in the inning then come around to score on an error.  Smith lasted 7.0 innings allowing the lone two runs on six hits, as he would suffer his first loss of the season.

Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) continued his excellence at the plate, going 2-4 with an RBI in the eighth.  Stoffel entered the game leading the league in hits and now has six multi-hit games.

Aaron Antonini (Middle Tennessee State University) and Cody Hawken (University of Portland) would both go 1-3 with singles.

Battle Creek now improves their home record to 7-2 after the sweep of Lakeshore.

The Bombers will continue their home stand, as they will host the Madison Mallards for two games this weekend.  Tomorrow is Little Caesars Friends and Family Day” at the ballpark.

James Rogers (Davenport University) is the probable starter for BC in game one. Tune in to the pregame show on the Bombers Radio Network with Jake Hromada and Neil Doyle at 6:55 p.m. ET.
