Battle Creek, Mich. – It was a pitchers duel throughout in front of a high capacity crowd in which the Battle Creek Bombers came out winners 3-1 over the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.

The Bombers (38-25, 18-10) were held scoreless until the sixth when an error finally produced a run.  The Dock Spiders (31-33, 15-13) rallied back with a run in the top of the seventh to tie the game.

In a tie game the duo of Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) and Alex Howard (Arkansas State University) came through in the seventh, edging the Bombers to their two run victory.

Stoffel untied the game with an RBI-single, as then Howard would score his teammate with his second double of the night.

BC got a quality start from Andrew Click (Davenport University) who picked up his third win of the season.  The right-hander lasted 7.0 innings and struck out a game high eight batters and allowed the only two hits.

Mark Quinby (UC San Diego) shut the door closing out the eighth and ninth for the third Bombers victory over the Dock Spiders. 

Several others picked up hits including Nick Walker (Austin Peay State University), Nehwon Norkeh (Tennessee Wesleyan University), Aaron Antonini (Middle Tennessee State University), Justin Felix (Arkansas State University) and JD Mundy (Virginia Tech).

Battle Creek will have a chance to tie the season series with Fond du Lac tomorrow afternoon, with first pitch set at 2:05 p.m. ET from C.O. Brown Stadium.
