Battle Creek, Mich. – In a must win situation for the Battle Creek Bombers the Cereal City team walked-off in the bottom of the 10th on a wild-pitch to win 3-2 over the St. Cloud Rox.

Nikola Vasic (McHenry County College) scored the winning run for BC, as a wild pitch with the bases loaded would even the Summer Collegiate World Series at one game apiece.

It was a low scoring affair, as the Rox jumping out to an early lead with a run in the first inning.  Another run in the fifth made it 2-0 with the Bombers offense not being able to produce runs.

The BC offense wouldn’t scratch a run until the sixth, with Gavin Homer (McHenry County College) scoring on an error.  The Bombers would then tie things in the eighth on another Rox error, as Vasic scored all the way from first base on a throwing error from right field.

The Bombers got a great duel pitching performance from starter Max Swan (Kellogg Community College) and Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech).  Swan lasted 6.0 innings as he allowed the two runs on seven hits.

Stoffel would enter in the seventh, tossing an inspiring 4.0 innings giving up one hit while striking out eight.

Even though the bomb squad stranded 14 runners on base, they picked up seven hits.  Nick Walker (Austin Peay State University) went 3-5 with three base hits.  Vasic also picked up a multi-hit game going 2-4.

Storm Joop (University of Indianapolis) and Aaron Antonini (Middle Tennessee State University) each picked up a single.

Battle Creek will have a chance at their second Collegiate Summer World Series in franchise history tomorrow night.  First pitch of game three is set for 7:05 p.m. ET at C.O. Brown Stadium, with Dakota Edwards (Cal State Stanislaus) getting the start tomorrow night.

Tune in to the pregame show on the Bombers Radio Network with Jake Hromada and Neil Doyle at 6:55 p.m. ET.
