FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Date: February 11, 2009

Loggers, Coach McKay Add to Staff

(LA CROSSE, WI) Second year manager Andy McKay has named a pair of coaches that will be joining him in the Loggers dugout this summer.

“Coach” Potulny returns for his second season on the Loggers coaching staff in 2009 after helping lead the Loggers to a franchise-best 39 wins in 2008. The long-time head coach at Jesuit High School in California, Potulny leads a storied program that is coming fresh off a 2008 state title with all of his players returning for 2009.
Potulny will be re-joining forces with field manager Andy McKay once again as the two worked together in the summer of 2005 as the leaders of the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in the Alaskan League and with the Loggers last season. Currently in the midst of his 17th year at the helm of the Jesuit High (California) program, Potulny has helped numerous players advance to collegiate and professional baseball including 2008 Logger Cory Vaughn (San Diego State). Potulnys’ teams have qualified for the postseason in 13 of the last 15 seasons including six league titles, three sectional titles and a state title in California.

New to the Loggers staff, but very familiar with the Andy McKay system, is Justin Ramsey. Coach Ramsey was an all-American at Oral Roberts University and enjoyed a couple of years of action in independent professional baseball before joining McKay’s staff at Sacramento City College five years ago. Ramsey will help oversee the Loggers pitching staff this summer.
