Mequon, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks have added Florida Gulf Coast teammates Sterling Koerner and Jake Noll, along with Nic Barnes from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, to the 2014 roster.

Sterling Koerner is a 6’0” right-handed pitcher from Fort Pierce, FL. Thus far in his freshman season, Koerner has appeared in ten games for the tradition-rich Eagles and has posted a 3.38 ERA and a 2-1 record. In 29.1 innings, Koerner has struck out 14 and walked just four batters. Showing his versatility, Koerner also has played on the infield and pinch-hit with a .333 batting average. A 2013 graduate of John Carroll Catholic High school, Koerner was named the 2013 Scripts Treasure Coast Player of the Year and selected to the FACA All-State Team.

Jake Noll has been impressive at the plate in his first season with FGCU. He’s currently second on the team with a .366 batting average with eight doubles and 16 RBI, and leads the team with 31 runs scored and 53 hits. The 6’2” Noll improved his versatility last season as a red-shirt after graduating from Charlotte High School in Punta Gorde, FL. With 17 stolen bases, Noll brings more speed to the Chinooks line-up and will be able to play several positions.

A native of La Crosse, WI, catcher Nic Barnes will bring the experience of more than 48 starts behind the plate in his three seasons at UW-La Crosse. Barnes will add early depth to the Chinooks’ catching position. This season, Barnes has hit .264 including one home run and seven RBI in his junior season.  He’s also posted a .983 fielding percentage. A versatile athlete at Aquinas High School, Barnes lettered four times in hockey and three times in both baseball and football.
