McPherson Joins Talented Pitching Staff

 
Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that right-handed pitcher Dustin Hurlbutt has signed to play with the team for the 2015 season.  Hurlbutt, a junior from Tabor College, is the 27th player to be named to Waterloo’s roster for the squad’s 21st season.
 
This season for the Bluejays, Hurlbutt owns a 6-0 record with a 2.52 ERA.  The 6’2”, 195-pounder has 48 strikeouts and 18 walks in 39.1 innings pitched and is holding batters to a .194 average.
 
“Dustin has been tearing it up in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference at Tabor this spring,” said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin.  “He’s a strikeout pitcher and we expect him to be a big contributor for us this summer.”
 
Hurlbutt transferred to Tabor from Northeastern State University.  Prior to attending Northeastern State, the Coffeyville, Kansas native played at Coffeyville Community College where he finished the 2013 season with an 0-9 record and a 5.89 ERA.
 
Born November 5, 1992, Hurlbutt attended Field Kindley High School. 

The Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, will open the 2015 season on the road versus the Alexandria Blue Anchors on May 26, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus the Mankato MoonDogs on May 28.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
