BATTLE CREEK, MI – The Battle Creek Bombers are less than 30 days away from home opener at C.O. Brown Stadium and have signed two right-handed pitchers to the 2016 roster. Austin Bueter of the University of Northwestern Ohio and Tommy Parsons of Adrian University will suit up for the red and black this summer.

Tommy Parsons: 6’5’’, 185 lbs, RHP, sophomore, (Bats: R/Throws: R), New Albany, Ohio

After posting an 8-1 record with a 3.10 ERA and 28 Ks in 12 appearances (9 starts) as a freshman with the Bulldogs, Parsons has continued his dominance on the mound into his sophomore season. Through 11 games, 9 starts, Parsons is 8-1 with a 2.62 ERA and 43 Ks, leading the team in ERA, wins and strikeouts. The right-hander has pitched four complete games, allowing just 17 earned runs and 5 walks in his 67.2 innings pitched. Among Parson’s highlights this year include the school’s second ever no-hitter, as Parsons struck out seven Olivet Comets and walked just one.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Parsons graduated from New Albany High School, being named First Team All-League and Second Team All-District in his senior season in 2014. Parsons’ major at Adrian is business, while his favorite sports teams are the Ohio State Buckeyes and the New York Yankees. His favorite TV Show is Family Guy and his favorite movie is The Sandlot.

Austin Bueter: 6’3’’, 185 lbs, RHP, junior, (Bats: R/Throws: R), Wauseon, Ohio

A transfer from Ohio Dominican College, Bueter has carved himself out a role in the Northwestern Ohio Racers bullpen. In 11 appearances, the junior is 0-1 with a 5.89 ERA, 26 Ks and 14 BBs in 18.1 innings pitched.

The junior graduated from Wauseon High School and was selected to the First Team All-Northwest Ohio Athletic League and First Team All-Northwest Ohio District. Bueter also threw a no-hitter in high school against Archbold.
