Southpaw and infielder added to the roster for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – A combination of UNLV players have entrenched their spots on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters roster for the 2017 summer season. The team announced it has signed freshman infielder Bryson Stott and sophomore left-handed pitcher Tevita Gerber.

Trading in UNLV red for Rafters red will be freshman infielder Bryson Stott from Las Vegas, Nevada. The 6’2”, left-handed swinging, shortstop suited up for the Rebels for the first time this spring after coming out of Desert Oasis High School ranked as the 17 best player overall in the state of Nevada. So far this spring, Stott leads the team in batting average with a .379 mark while driving in 14 runs and scoring a team high 18 runs. In 2016, Stott was named to the All-West Region team. The stellar infielder garnered 2015 Underclass Honorable Mention for the west region, showing steady improvement and skill during his high school career.

Joining Stott this summer will be his UNLV teammate, left-handed pitcher Tevita Gerber. A graduate of Cottonwood High School in Utah, Gerber appeared in 11 games during his freshman season in 2016. He finished the season with 18 innings pitched and eight earned runs allowed. The sophomore has pitched in 23 innings in 2017, starting twice and appearing out of the bullpen on eight occasions. During his prep career, Gerber was named the 2015 all-state MVP and participated in the state all-star game. He also notched the second most strikeouts in school history. Gerber is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah.

The season and home opener for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters is May 30th at 7:05 against the Kenosha Kingfish.
