Rox Sign Cathedral Graduate Austing, Two Infielders and Outfielder

St. Cloud, MNThe St. Cloud Rox announced the signing of four additional players for the 2017 season today.  The list includes St. Cloud State University pitcher Dominic Austing, outfielder Cole Krzmarzick of University of Nevada, Reno and infielders Matthew Tarantino of University of the Pacific and Cameron Blaquiere from Western Carolina University.

Austing, a Sauk Rapids native and St. Cloud Cathedral graduate is in his sophomore season with St. Cloud State University.  He has a 6-2 record this season in 10 appearances for the Huskies. In 54.2 innings pitched he has 64 strikeouts while only walking seven batters. On the season, he has a 3.13 earned run average and threw a nine-inning complete game one-hit shutout in his most recent start.

Krzmarzick is a junior outfielder at University of Nevada, Reno. In 37 games this season for the Wolf Pack, he has a .259 batting average with two home runs and 16 runs batted in. Last summer Krzmarzick played 39 games for the Alaska Goldpanners, collecting 42 hits and a .294 batting average.  In 2015 he played in the Northwoods League for the Rochester Honkers seeing action in 51 regular season games.

Tarantino is a junior infielder at University of the Pacific. He has played in 30 games this season for the Tigers and is fourth on the team with a .294 batting average and three homeruns, and third on the team with 19 runs batted in. Tarantino transferred to University of the Pacific after playing two seasons at the College of Marin.  

Blaquiere will join the Rox following his junior season at Western Carolina University. In 31 games for the Catamounts he has a .270 batting average, five homeruns and 22 runs batted in. Blaquiere transferred to Western Carolina University after playing two seasons at Florida State College at Jacksonville.     

In total the Rox now have 20 players under contract for the 2017 season. Field Manager Augie Rodriguez, along with the Rox organization will continue to build the roster for the 2017 season.


The Rox will play their 6th season of Northwoods League Baseball in 2017. The home opener at Joe Faber Field is scheduled for Friday, June 2nd at 7:05 pm against the Rochester Honkers. The home opener, presented by Coborn’s, will feature post-game fireworks. Season and group tickets for the 2017 season are currently on sale.
