(Duluth, MN) — Fans were able to enjoy solid pitching, fielding and hitting on Tuesday and Wednesday night in Willmar as the Huskies and Stingers split the two game series. The Huskies came out on top in the first game, a 4-0 final, and the Stingers walked-off winners last night, 9-8.

Kevin Peters was the star of Tuesday night, throwing 7 1/3 innings and allowing only 4 hits with no earned runs and 4 strikeouts. The win lowered his ERA to 3.54 on the season. Steve Villines finished the final 1 2/3 innings to earn the save. On the offensive side, Keach Ballard had two hits, scored once, and had one RBI, Michael Tinsley had three hits, Austin Darby had two hits and two RBI, and Dom Miroglio had two hits and one RBI.

Last night, the Huskies outhit the home team 16-8, but couldn't complete a comeback in the Stingers' 9-8 walk-off victory. Trent Chatterton was the catalyst atop the lineup, picking up three hits, with one RBI and one run scored. Austin Darby had two more hits, one RBI and one run scored, Nolan Johnson had two hits and one RBI, Dom Brugnoni had three hits, two RBI, and scored once, and Eric Peterson rounded out the solid night with two hits and an RBI from the nine spot. The Stingers' Hutton Moyer had three solo home runs in the contest including the game winner in the bottom of the ninth.

The Huskies travel to St. Cloud to start a two game set tonight starting at 7:05pm.
