Wade Stadium users had a chance to test the playing surface for the first time on Friday afternoon. Members of the three area schools came out and worked out under Duluth Huskies Coach Daniel Hersey to check for any abnormalities or issues with the surface prior to the city signing off on the project.

Players from CSS, UMD, and Denfeld were excited about getting the chance to see how the facility played, but really more excited about knowing that they will have a home game after 2 years of being on the road for their season.

Coach Daniel Hersey said, "The playing surface played true and I'm excited about finally having a surface we can rely on and not having to spend hours trying to maintain in order to play a game. I think the players will be excited to come to the park every day knowing that the surface will be consistent day in and day out. Its definately a game changer for teams throughout the region and we look forward to teams from throughout the Northland getting an opportunity to experience the outstanding facility.

City of Duluth staff, Duluth Huskies staff, and the installer were all on field to watch the players reaction to balls, sliding, bounce, and speed of the surface during the workout.
