The Duluth Huskies (3-4) beat the Waterloo Bucks in walk-off fashion.

The Huskies were quiet until the 5th inning when Holden Cammack reached first base. Nick Valaika on a 1-1 count crushed a homerun over the left field fence to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead. The Huskies were held scoreless until the bottom of the 9th inning when Elliot Barzilli started it off with a single. Holden Cammack reached on a fielder’s choice, which was followed by Nick Valaika who reached on a single as well. Danny Lee was intentionally walked to load the bases. Alex Greene drew a 1-2 count and blooped a single over the second baseman’s head to score Cammack for a Huskies win.

The Bucks were the first to score in the 3rd inning with a RBI walk. The Bucks were held scoreless until the 6th inning with an error by the pitcher. Tyler Day pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two earned runs, eight hits, three walks, and three strikeouts. Both Tyler Selesky and Zach McKinstry lead the Bucks with 2 hits apiece.

Riley Gates pitched 5.1 innings giving up two hits, one earned run, six walks, and four strikeouts. Moises Ceja came in relief for 2.2 innings pitched, giving up three hits and one strikeout. Austin Carpenter got the win while pitching the 9th inning not giving up a hit or a run.

The Huskies are back in action tomorrow at Wade Stadium at 6:35 to finish off the series against the Waterloo Bucks.
