The Duluth Huskies (11-13) lost to the Mankato MoonDogs (15-9) Friday night.

Ryan Tapani and Ricky Digrugilliers were locked in a pitcher’s duel through six innings with the MoonDogs only run coming on a double from Alvaro Rubalcaba. The Huskies were kept off the board until the sixth, when Logan Browning scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Reid Long. Mankato rallied again to start the seventh with a walk, a hit by pitch, and a single, leading to two more Mankato runs. The MoonDogs added one more in the eighth, and the Huskies were kept off the board the rest of the game.

Tapani started the game and received the loss after tossing six innings and allowing three runs on six hits, and struck out four. He was relieved by Wade Regas, followed by Alex Ferguson, who pitched the final two innings, allowing one run. Ricky Digrugilliers threw six innings, allowed one run on seven hits, and four strikeouts. Brian Gadsby and Brick Paskiewicz threw three shutout innings to complete the sweep.

The Huskies are back at Wade Stadium Saturday night to face the Waterloo Bucks. Saturday is the annual Scouts Campout Night. Cub, Boy, and Girl Scouts can earn a special Wade Stadium patch sponsored by Advantage Emblem. First pitch is set for 6:35 and gates open at 5:35.
