Tonight, our starting pitcher matchup was Garrett Brown (2-1) for the Duluth Huskies, and Drew Gillespie (0-1) for the Eau Claire Express.  Brown got the better of the Express today though as he went 5 innings to lead the Huskies to a solid 6-4 victory.  Brown finished the night with solid numbers all around going 5 innings 5 hits, 1 run, and 5 strikeouts.  This was by far his best outing of the season and something Brown can build on going forward in the season.   If he can be a solid starter for the Huskies they have a bright season ahead of them.

The Huskies were looking to keep the winning going after a clean sweep of the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Tuesday.  The Huskies certainly did. Catcher Dean Nevarez got things going early in the second hitting an absolute bomb to left field for a long solo homerun in his first at bat of the season.

After taking the early 1 run lead, the huskies continue to struggle defensively.  Errors again pile up and led to a run early to tie it up.

The Huskies blew the game open in the 4th with 4 runs, but it could have been a lot more.  With 1 out and runners on the corners Isaacson was caught stealing home for the second out, and Collins was caught stealing 3rd after stealing second.  The Duluth Huskies got lucky tonight that didn’t come back to bite them.

Tune in to your Huskies online to watch the Huskies take on Eau Claire tomorrow at 7:05 PM as they search for their 4th Straight win and continue to climb up the standings.
