The Huskies and Loggers met for the final time this 2017 regular season Tuesday night. Things started off strong for both arms on the bump. Huskies, Ian Cassidy (Western Missouri) was on his game in his debut allowing one run through the first four innings. His counterpart, Garrett Christman (Butler) worked fast and only allowed one Huskie to cross home plate.

It wasn’t till the fourth inning that the hometown team put some runs on the board. A game tying homerun from the catcher Dean Nevarez (San Diego State) looked to be the start of a comeback and a possible rally. However, the Loggers bullpen and a couple hot bats kept a constant flow of runs coming from the visiting team. Loggers, Kennie Taylor (Duke) and Jeremy Ydens (UCLA) both had three hits in the 8-4 win over the hometown, Huskies.

The Huskies are back in action tomorrow with a double header vs Thunder Bay, the afternoon game is scheduled for 12:05 and the later game is at 7:05. The second game will be part of the Emergency Service Night with special guest Ila Borders, Ila was part of the 1997 Duluth/Superior Dukes and is an active part of the baseball community.
