Top Ten Moments Countdown: # 5: Mountain Man Visits Carson Park
Fans at Carson Park were given a special treat this past season as Mountain Man, from the hit TV show Duck Dynasty, stopped by Carson Park on July 16th, 2014.
Mountain Man started his day at the park by mixing, mingling, and signing autographs with the 2,703 fans that came to Carson Park that night. Before the game started, Express players were treated to a visit from Mountain Man just before he threw out the first pitch of the game to Eau Claire native, NWL All-Star, and Duck Dynasty enthusiast, Tyler Hermann. Mountain Man then conducted both a beard growing contest (beards had to be grown in advance), and a duck call contest that was likely one of the first ever duck call contests to take place in the middle of a baseball game.
Mountain Man continued his night in the Carson Park Press Box and took over the public address duties for an inning. Mountain Man also stopped by the radio booth and talked with Pete Knutson on Mix 98.1 about Duck Dynasty, his upcoming book, and his love of baseball. Overall, Mountain Man’s visit was a great highlight of the summer at Carson Park and it is the #5 moment of the 2015 season.
