Three More Cal Poly Players added to Express Roster

 

Eau Claire, WI – The Eau Claire Express announced today that three more players from California Polytechnic State University have joined the Express 2015 roster. Cameron Cotton (RHP), Michael Gomez (RHP), and Erich Uelmen (RHP) will join their Cal Poly teammate and Express alum Peter Van Gansen (already announced) for the 2015 season.

 

Cameron Cotton is a redshirt freshman from Danville, CA. In high school, Cotton struck out 118 batters in just 70 innings pitched and posted a remarkable 0.80 ERA his senior year. Cotton also hit .434 with six doubles and three home runs his senior season playing for The Athenian School in Danville.

 

Michael Gomez is a freshman from Upland, CA playing his prep ball at Upland High School. In his senior high school season, Gomez had a 5-4 record with a 2.23 ERA striking out 42 batters in 50.1 innings pitched.

 

Erich Uelmen is a freshman from Las Vegas, NV having played at Faith Lutheran High School.  In his senior season, he struck out an astounding 57 batters in just 39 innings pitched and posted a 1.62 ERA.

The Express begin their 11th season of play in the Northwoods League on May 26th as they take on the Border Cats in Thunder Bay. Eau Claire’s home opener is scheduled for May 28 versus the Duluth Huskies. First pitch of that contest will be at 6:35 PM. Season tickets and voucher packs are on sale now and single-game tickets will go on sale May 1st.
