Eau Claire, Wis. – The pitching staff of the Eau Claire Express grew by two today as the team announced the signing of Jake Moebius and Brock Immke to the 2017 roster. The two right-handers bring the roster to 19 with just under three months until Opening Day. The Express will continue to announce player signings weekly until the beginning of the Northwoods League season.

Moebius, a sophomore at Western Carolina, made ten relief appearances as a freshman and finished with a 4.09 earned run average over 11 innings of work. The Jamestown, N.C. native played his high school ball at Wesleyan Christian Academy where he led them to four conference championships and three state runner-up finishes. Moebius played last summer in the Southern Collegiate League with the Piedmont Pride.

Immke is a junior at Illinois Springfield. Prior to arriving in Springfield, he spent two seasons playing for Kankakee Community College. As a freshman, Immke appeared in 12 games at Kankakee finishing with a 4.36 ERA over 66 innings pitched. He improved his sophomore year, pitching a similar 64.1 innings but finishing with a much lower 2.80 ERA. The St. Joseph, Ill. native had a standout high school career, earning 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Area and 1st Team All-State honors.

Express Field Manager Dale Varsho likes the experience his latest two arms add to his pitching staff.

“Jake and Brock will bring in experience that will help us compete this summer,” Varsho stated. “Adding two new programs to the Express family will also help us with recruiting in future seasons.”
