Bullfrogs Announce Assistant Coaching Staff
Green Bay, Wis.-The Bullfrogs have announced Chris Marston, Michael Ramazzotti and Matt Ellenbest as assistant coaches for the 2017 season.
Chris Marston is currently in his second season as the head coach at Principia College. Prior to becoming head coach, Marston was the pitching coach at Principia during the 2011-2012 season when he was earning his master’s degree at the University of the Rockies. Marston has a long history within wood bat and collegiate leagues across the nation. He was a head coach at IMG Academy for the High School Summer Wood Bat League, an assistant coach in the Lewis and Clark Collegiate Baseball League, and was also a head coach in the Show Me Collegiate Baseball League. During his colligate career, Marston pitched four seasons for Drury University.
Michael Ramazzotti will be another new face in the dugout this season for the Bullfrogs. Ramazzotti is currently in his first season as director of baseball operations at the University of San Diego. Before his time in San Diego, Ramazzotti was an assistant coach at Santa Barbara City College. In the summer of 2016, he was also an associate head coach in the San Diego Coastal Collegiate League. Prior to his coaching career, Ramazzotti played baseball at the University of New Mexico-Highland. After college, Ramazzotti spent time as a player in three different professional leagues. He played in the Golden Baseball League, the Italian Professional Baseball League, and the American Association.
Joining Ramazzotti and Marston will be Matt Ellenbest, a familiar face for Bullfrogs fans. Originally from Medina, Ohio, Ellenbest is returning to Green Bay for the 2017 campaign after graduating from Morehead State. While at Morehead, he made 31 appearances with 24 strikeouts over three seasons as a relief pitcher. Last season in Green Bay, Ellenbest appeared in 15 games, recording 4 wins. That was tied for a team best. The Ellenbest name is a familiar one for Bullfrogs fans. Mike Ellenbest, Matt’s younger brother, played in Green Bay for three seasons before he was drafted in 2016 by the Toronto Blue Jays.
These coaches will bring a plethora of knowledge to the dugout. Marston, Ramazzotti and Ellenbest will be coaching under former Cincinnati Reds’ star and three time all-star, Chris Sabo, this summer.
