The Growlers Reading Program will provide students with incentives and prizes for achieving their reading goals. There will be four levels of bases (first base, second base, third base, and home plate) with a prize for the students at each goal. Teachers will be able to set their own goals for their classroom. These goals can be based on pages read, books read, time spent reading, etc. When a student reaches a new goal, he or she will get a prize provided by the Growlers and the Kalamazoo Public Library. Students will each be given a bookmark to record his or her progress, to be signed by the teacher upon completing each goal.
The 2016 Reading Program prizes are:
1st Base – (1) Free voucher for a Launch-a-Ball and a Growlers Bookmark. Launch a Ball is a post-game activity where kids throw a ball at targets on the field to win prizes!
2nd Base – 1 Free admission to Reading Program Day at the Museum and (1) Free spin voucher for the Growlers Prize Wheel – prizes include broken game-used bats, autographed memorabilia, and much more!
