Kenosha Wis. – Tuesday, July 22, 2014 will showcase what makes the Northwoods League one of the best leagues around. The Lakeshore Chinooks will play host to the 2014 Northwoods League All-Star Game presented by Fiduciary Management, Inc where the top players in the league come together. In addition to the All-Star game, the day will include the Home Run Challenge where Kingfish player, and Northwoods League All-Star, Pat Porter will participate.

Pat Porter undoubtedly has made his mark in the Northwoods League. The Ohio State University junior leads the Kingfish and NWL with 48 RBI and has nine home runs on the year, number one for King Elvis crew and tied for second in the league.  The left fielder is on pace to finish second in Northwoods League history for RBI in a season, needing only 21 more to reach a total of 69 on the season. He is hitting a staggering .330 and has recorded hits in eight of his last ten games.  Additionally, Porter is an essential asset in Coach Duffy Dyer’s line-up, playing in all 48 games in the season.

The Home Run Challenge will consist of ten participants total, five from each of the North and South All-Star teams. It is to begin at 4:45 p.m. (CST).  To see a list of all participants, visit www.northwoodsleague.com

The format will be a ten round exhibition with each half inning consisting of one of the players from the North or South team hitting.  Each player will receive five outs per half inning and the team with the most home runs at the end of the ten rounds will be declared the winning team. The player who hits the most home runs during their at-bats will be crowned the individual champion.
