Kingfish Release 2015 Schedule

Kingfish to Host Season Opener on May 26th at 7:05 pm

Kenosha, WI – The Kenosha Kingfish of the Northwoods League have announced the schedule for the 2015 season. The Northwoods League will once again play a 72-game inter-divisional schedule.

The Kingfish will open their season at home for the first two games on May 26th and 27th at Historic Simmons Field against the St. Cloud Rox. The Kingfish play 19 home games in May/June, 13 in July, and four in August. This summer’s Kingfish schedule features 17 games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The first half of the season will be complete at the end of play on Tuesday, June 30th, with the second half beginning on Wednesday, July 1st. The first and second half division winners from both the North and South will meet in a best-of-three Divisional Playoff Series on August 10th thru August 12th. The North and South Division Champions will then meet in a best-of-three series for the Summer Collegiate World Series on August 13th thru August 15th. In 2014, the Kingfish finished just .5 games back in the standings to earn a playoff bid.

The Kingfish will play a split-double header on both June 30th and July 8th, against the Lakeshore Chinooks. On June 30th the Kingfish will play at Lakeshore at 11:35 am and then host the Chinooks at Historic Simmons Field at 7:05 pm. On July 8th, the first game will start in Kenosha at 12:05 pm, followed by the second game at Lakeshore at 6:35 pm.

The 2015 Nortwoods League All-Star Game will return to Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday, July 21st. The Rafters last hosted the All-Star Game in 2011, which sold out prior to single game tickets going on sale and featured 33 players that went on to play professional baseball. Additional details regarding the 2015 All-Star festivities will be released at a later date.

There are no expansion franchises in the Northwoods League for 2015, therefore divisions will remain the same. The North Division franchises include the Eau Claire Express, Thunder Bay Border Cats, Waterloo Bucks, Mankato MoonDogs, Duluth Huskies, Willmar Stingers, Alexandria Blue Anchors, St. Cloud Rox, and Rochester Honkers. The South Division is comprised of the Kingfish, Madison Mallards, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Green Bay Bullfrogs, Lakeshore Chinooks, Wisconsin Woodchucks, La Crosse Loggers, Kalamazoo Growlers and Battle Creek Bombers.

The Kingfish will play their inter-divisional games against the St. Cloud Rox and Mankato MoonDogs.

Single-game tickets for all Kingfish home games will go on sale Saturday, April 25th.
