Spooky Sprint 5K This Saturday

Kenosha, Wis. – The Kenosha Kingfish will host its second annual Spooky Sprint 5K on Saturday, October 10 to benefit the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. The event will start at 9am with the Spooky Sprint, a 5K Fun Run/Walk starting in downtown Kenosha, and end at the home plate of Simmons Field. This unique 5K will feature a costume contest as costumes are encouraged for fans of all ages. In addition to the 5K, the event will also feature a separate 1K Fun Run for kids 12 and under. The 1K will take place at Simmons Field and will be free.
The Spooky Sprint is $25 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. Proceeds from this year’s Spooky Sprint will go towards the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. All 5K participants will receive a free t-shirt and a complimentary beverage at the stadium upon completion of the race. Race Day Details–
The race begins at the Kemper Center, located at 6501 3rd Avenue. Runners will wind through downtown Kenosha, alongside Lake Michigan and end at the home plate of Simmons Field. Participants may park on the street near the Kemper Center or at Simmons Field. A Shuttle to and from the Kemper Center and Simmons Field before and after the race will be available.
Participants may pick up race packets beginning Thursday, from 9am – 5pm at Simmons Field, Friday from 9am – 12pm or on Saturday beginning at 8am near the Kemper Center.
The Fun 1K Run/Walk for kids will begin at 10am at Simmons Field. The 1K will be around the warning track and will feature a costume contest.

The Kenosha Kingfish are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation was established in 1971 after the great Coach Lombardi passed away at the young age of 57 from colon cancer.
