Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish (22-40 overall) lost the handle on a late five run lead, and fell to the Madison Mallards 9-7. 

The Mallards put together an impressive seven run rally in the eighth inning to take the lead 9-7. Madison’s rally came right off the heels of a 7-1 run by the Kingfish which saw both Pete Schuler and Marty Bechina hit two run home runs. 

Christian Bokich took the hill for the Kingfish, and pitched 5.1 innings. He allowed eight hits and 2 runs. Bobby Skogsbergh and Rob Henry combined for 2.1 innings of relief in which seven runs crossed the plate. Riley Futterknecht did not allow a run the rest of the way in the final 1.1 innings. 

Pete Schuler went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 RBIs. Pat McInerney had a 2 for 3 night with an RBI, and Marty Bechina went 1 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs. 

The Kingfish will head to Madison for a two game series on the road against the Mallards beginning tomorrow at 7:05 CT.
