Thunder Bay, Ont.- The La Crosse Loggers put up double digits in the first four innings to keep the Thunder Bay Border Cats from completing the comeback, 10-6.

Mason McCoy (Iowa) led off the game with a single. He stole his 4th base of the season to reach 2nd base. With two outs, Griffin Conine (Duke) took a 2-1 over the fence for a 2-run home run.

Garrett Zech (South Florida) put a baserunner for the Loggers on with two outs in the 3rd inning. He earned his North Division best 14th stolen base of the season. The next pitch, Justin Wylie (San Diego State) singled to score Zech from 2nd base, extending the Logger lead to three.

The Lumbermen continued to pour it on the Border Cats in the 4th inning. Seven runners crossed home plate on five hits, three walks, and a Border Cat error. Cullen Large (William & Mary) walked, singled, and scored a run in the same inning. He nearly scored for the second time, ending the inning at 3rd base.

Thunder Bay put up four runs after falling behind early. Things did get interesting in the 9th inning. Andrew Fregia (Sam Houston State) homered, with Shane Shepard (NC State) on 2nd base, off Logger reliever Jared Liebelt (Waubonsee CC), pulling the lead to four. A batter later, Robert Boselli (Mercer County CC) grounded out to 2nd base to end the game.

La Crosse puts up their 13th win of the season to move to 13-8. Thunder Bay falls to 1-19.

Mitch Stalsberg (Winona State) pitched 6 innings, giving up three runs (two earned), walking four and striking out eight batters. He moves his mark to a league-leading 34 strikouts. Mitch picked up his 2nd win of the season tonight (2-2)

Tom Mullin (Penn State) lasted 3.2 inning, giving up 10 runs (5 earned). He struck out four walked four. He takes his first decision of the season (0-1).
