Mequon, WI – The Northwoods League released today the rosters for the 2016 Major League Dreams Showcase and an impressive seven Lakeshore Chinooks players were selected. With the large number of Chinooks players selected, the league and Major League Scouts recognize the individual talent that is on the team. Only the Eau Claire Express, winners of the North Division’s First Half, and the Madison Mallards placed more players in the showcase. The annual showcase is a double header featuring the top talent from the Northwoods League as selected by a panel of Major League Scouts.

Selected for the showcase were position players, Darius Sewell (Georgia State), Owen Miller (Illinois State), Royce Ando (Michigan State) and Tim Dalporto (Kent State). In a year when the Chinooks pitchers have led the league in Innings Pitched, Strikeouts, Fewest Runs Allowed, Opponents Batting Average, Fewest HR’s Allowed, and until recently Earned Run Average, they placed three players in the Showcase, Cole Gnetz (Miami of Ohio), Nick Horvath (Florida) and Liam Jenkins (Arizona State).

Chinooks players will be participating with the other attendees prior to the double header in a series of workouts for the Major League Scouts. The first game of the double header will begin at 4:05pm and the second game which will feature the Chinooks players will begin at 7:35pm. Both games will be played at Warner Park on Tuesday, August 9th at the home of the Madison Mallards. Proceeds from the games will benefit the Northwoods League Foundation that serves as a vehicle to improve the local communities through grants, scholarships and donations. Tickets for the games are available at mallardsbaseball.com.
