Grafton, WI – Recently, the Chinooks announced their Top 10 Moments of 2016. Here is a recap of those memorable moments that made up this year's list.

Honorable Mention #1: Gill Earns Presidential Nomination

Gill was officially announced as the candidate for the newly formed Fish Party, which held their National Convention on August 6th at Kapco Park. Gill's running mate was none other than Mitch "Thunder" Nelles.

Honorable Mention #2: Krill Returns To Kapco Park

Mr Chinook himself returned to Kapco Park on July 10th and was honored in bobblehead form!

Honorable Mention #3: Star Wars Jersey Auction

On July 23rd & August 1st, the Chinooks wore Star Wars themed X-Wing Fighter Pilot jerseys which were auctioned off with the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

Honorable Mention #4: Chinooks End Season With A Bang

On August 13th, the Chinooks "Ended the Season With A Bang!" 2,228 fans (9th biggest crowd ever) packed Kapco Park to see a Chinooks win followed by post-game fireworks!

Honorable Mention #5: Bartlett & Kasowski Shine At All-Star Game

Keenan Bartlett and Marshall Kasowski combined for 2.1 innings of shutout baseball in the Northwoods League All-Star Game which was held in Kenosha.

#10: Kolasinski Pitches Three Scoreless Innings 

Kolasinski pitched three scoreless innings against the Rafters in the NWL Divisional Series of the playoffs. With the Chinooks out of pitching, Jake (who was serving as the team's DH and backup catcher) came into the game only giving up three hits and no runs. Before the outing, the last time Kolasinksi pitched was high school.

#9: Jandron/Abraham/Horvath Combined Shutout

The combined complete game shutout came on August 2nd against the Rafters by three Chinooks pitchers: Tyler Jandron, Joey Abraham, and Nick Horvath!

#8: 14 Chinooks Drafted By Major League Baseball

14 Chinooks players, past and present, were drafted by the MLB back in June. Those 14 players joined 44 other former Chinooks who have had their name selected in the past five years.

#7: Chinooks Tie Franchise Hit Record

The starting line-up on July 1st tied the franchise hit record for a single game with 21 hits!

#6: New Single Game Attendance Record

2,517 packed Kapco Park on June 20th setting a new single game attendance record!

#5: Kasowski Secures Strikeout Record

On July 12th at Rockford, Marshall Kasowski secured the franchise record for most career strikeouts!

#4: Chinooks Punch Playoff Ticket

The Chinooks defeated the Bullfrogs on the final day of the season to secure a playoff spot, the third time in five years!

#3: New Season Attendance Record

In 2016, Nook Nation helped the Chinooks set a new season attendance record of 49,323!

#2: Back-To-Back Walk Offs

Back-to-back walk off wins on July 31st! The first game was a continuation of the July 30th game which was suspended due to curfew. In the 13th inning, Zac Taylor hit a walk-off home run for the win. In the second game, Matt Johnson hit a sac fly to score the winning run in the 11th inning.

#1: Kasowski Named NWL Pitcher of the Year

Chinooks pitcher Marshall Kasowski was named the Northwoods League Pitcher of the Year!

The Lakeshore Chinooks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The 23-year-old summer collegiate league is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 20 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
