Grafton, WI – Five Chinooks players today were selected to the Northwoods League Major League Dreams Showcase which will take place in Madison on August 8th. The annual showcase acts as a second All-Star Game for the league giving players who arrived to the league late a chance to play infront of scouts. The showcase features a double header featuring the top players from the league, who were selected by MLB scouts.

Representing the Chinooks will be 2B Matthew Mika (Central Florida), 1B Daniel DeSimone (Oklahoma State), 3B Owen Miller (Illinois State), RHP Cyrillo Watson (Illinois), and RHP Takoda Metoxen (Memphis). All players will be in game 2 of the doubleheader.

Matthew Mika, who recently participated in the NWL All-Star Game, has been on a tear his season.  He currently batting .336 with 4 HR's, 27 RBI's, and 22 stolen bases which is just shy of a Chinooks season record.

Daniel DeSimone has a .291 batting average with 4 HR's and 23 RBI's. Daniel has an OBP of .391. He has primarily been seeing action at 1B this season.

Owen Miller's highlight of the season came in early July when he hit for the cycle twice in three days, once in Kalamazoo on July 3rd and at Kapco Park on July 5th. Miller is currently hitting .365 with 2 HR's and 10 RBI's. Miller is known for his dependable defense at 3B since arriving back at Kapco Park a few weeks ago.

Cyrillo Watson has been in the Chinooks starting rotation since the beginning of the season. He has appeared in 8 games, 7 of which were starts. Cryillo is 2-2 with .3.53 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 35 innings.

Takoda Metoxen who arrived in late June has only appeared in two games for the team including one start. He is 0-0 with an 6.75 ERA.
