St. Cloud, MN — the MoonDogs took a five game win streak on the road to play a double header against the Rox, but would end up losing both games 6-5 and 11-6 on Wednesday at Joe Faber Field.

Jack Flansburg had a great game at the plate during the 12:05 start for the Mankato MoonDogs (12-14, 30-32). "Flanny" would go 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, but would be the only MoonDog with a multi hit game against the St. Cloud Rox (20-17,39-22).

Mankato pitching struck out Rox hitters 11 times in the tight contest, but Ryan Kokora settled down after the first two innings to combine with Brian Glowicki and shut down the MoonDogs offense   The Rox would slowly chip away at the Mankato lead, which was 5-0 at one point, and get the win 6-5.

The outcome of game two was very different. Mankato jumped out to an early lead in the first, scoring three quick runs to take a 3-0 lead. The Rox would take back two runs in the bottom of the inning before St. Cloud would take the lead for good in the bottom of the second. Three runs would put the Rox in the lead for good, eventually winning the game by a final tally of 11-6

Mankato will start a two game series in Duluth starting Thursday night as they continue their playoff chase. First pitch will be at 6:35 PM and can be heard with the voice of the MoonDogs, Shawn Murnin, on The Fan Mankato.
