Mankato, MN – As fall starts to show its colors, it’s clear the 2015 MoonDogs season has come to a close. However, while most people are thinking about football, soccer, and all other fall sports, the MoonDogs have Wiffle Ball on their mind.

On Saturday, October 3rd the MoonDogs will host a Wiffle Ball tournament at Franklin Rogers Park starting at 11:00am. Each team is guaranteed three games during pool play, with single elimination brackets to follow. There are 12 teams allowed in the tournament, with 6-8 people on each team. The first 12 teams to pay will be entered in the tournament, with a $120 registration fee per team.

If you’re ready to put together a team with your friends and enjoy a Saturday afternoon playing Wiffle Ball, the MoonDogs will see you on October 3rd at Franklin Rogers Park!

The Mankato MoonDogs are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 22nd season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (OAK). All league games are viewable live via the Northwoods League Website.
