MANKATO, MN — The Mankato MoonDogs, a member of the Northwoods League, are excited to announce the addition of RHP/OF Brick Paskiewicz and OF Thomas Lerouge of Grand Canyon University.

Paskiewicz, a junior from Peoria Arizona, will be looking to add on to an already stellar college summer league resume. In 2015, Brick was named the Alaska Baseball League’s MVP to go along with First Team All-League honors as both a relief pitcher and outfielder. Paskiewicz helped the Mat-Su Minors claim the National Division title going 2-0 with a 0.85 ERA. This season, he has pitched in relief for the Lopes to the tune of a 2-0 record, accompanied by a 10.38 ERA and four strikeouts. The 6’0” left-handed bat is also hitting .214 on the season which includes a two-hit effort on February 20th against Gonzaga.

Outfielder Thomas Lerouge is off to a white-hot start in the 2016 season with GCU. Through 20 games Lerouge is hitting .354, good for second on the team. The left-hand hitting Yucaipa, CA native leads Grand Canyon in runs (17), hits (29), triples (2), and stolen bases (5) while starting all 20 of GCU’s games. In 2015, Lerouge showed he had serious potential for the Lopes as he slashed .342/.356/.389 in 45 games during his freshman campaign.

Paskiewicz and Lerouge become the second and third Grand Canyon University Lopes to join Mankato following 2015 MoonDogs’ Northwoods League All-Star shortstop Paul Panaccione.

The MoonDogs home opener is scheduled for Friday, June 3rd at 7:05 p.m. against the Rochester Honkers at Franklin Rogers Park. Season tickets are now on sale, call 507-625- 7047 or visit the MoonDogs’ office at 1221 Caledonia Street in Mankato for more information.
