MANKATO, MN — The Mankato MoonDogs, a member of the Northwoods League, are excited to announce the addition of Jake Shepski (Notre Dame), infielder/outfielder Jordan Kozicky (University of Minnesota), and left-handed pitcher Gabe Constantine (Wichita State) to their 2016 roster.

Notre Dame’s Jake Shepski is an infielder, outfielder, and right-handed pitcher for the Irish coming off a huge week. On March 24th, Shepski turned in one of the best performances of the collegiate season so far. The switch-hitting DH went 5-for-6 at the plate, including two home runs from the right side, adding another home run, a double, and a triple from the left hand batter’s box. On the season the sophomore is hitting .360 through nine games to go along with his team-leading three home runs.

Another addition to the MoonDogs’ lineup is freshman infielder/outfielder Jordan Kozicky. A native of Minneapolis, Kozicky has yet to see action for the University of Minnesota, but has a bright future. "Jordan Kozicky is an exceptionally talented player with a very bright future in a (MoonDogs) uniform,” U of M Assistant Baseball Coach Patrick Casey said, “A capable athlete with plus arm strength, Jordan is an emerging talent who has the ability to play on the left-side of the infield as well as the athleticism to play both corner outfield positions.”

Gabe Constantine will join the MoonDogs to help bolster the pitching staff. Contantine, a left handed pitcher, comes to Mankato by way of Wichita State. “(Gabe) is a strong lefty arm with good command and he’s going to come in, compete, and work the plate.” says 2015 MoonDogs outfielder Mikel Mucha. “He will give you his best every appearance. Constantine is someone, I think, that will help out the MoonDogs a lot this year!”

The MoonDogs home opener is scheduled for Friday, June 3rd at 7:05 p.m. against the Rochester Honkers at Franklin Rogers Park. Season tickets are now on sale, call 507-625-7047 or visit the MoonDogs’ office at 1221 Caledonia Street in Mankato for more information.
