mark headshotOwner – Mark Ogren

Mark owns Croix Oil Company which is located in Stillwater, Minnesota. The company has been owned by the Ogren family for over 50 years and operates in the retail petroleum business. He is the President of Croix Oil Company and has served in that post since 1995. Mark currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Petroleum Marketers Association. Mark is also active in the real estate business and holds a Real Estate Broker’s License in the State of Minnesota. Mark is also an owner of the Sioux Falls Canaries, a member of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. He is also an owner of the Sioux Falls Stampede, a member of the United States Hockey League. Mark received his Bachelors Degree in Financial Management in 1985 and his Masters of Business Administration in 1990, both from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He and his wife Dawn have two sons and two daughters and currently reside in Stillwater, Minnesota. 

 

GarrityTom Garrity – Co-Owner and President

Tom Garrity just completed his fourth season as CEO and President of Sioux Falls Sports, LLC which include the Stampede (hockey) and the Canaries (baseball). Garrity is also a co-owner and managing partner of the USHL Madison Capitols and has just become Co-Owner and President of the MoonDogs. In addition to working with the Stampede, Canaries and Capitols, and now the MoonDogs, Garrity is founder & CEO of Quan Sports Marketing LLC. Quan is a sports consulting firm specializing in leading sports franchises in the areas of revenue generation, expense and operations management. Tom is a University of Wisconsin at Platteville graduate and is a native of Prairie du Chien, Wis. Garrity and his wife, Gina, have 4 children: Caitlyn (13), Connor (12), Ceira (8), and Cameron (7). 

 

 

Ogren_Scott (2)Director – Scott Ogren 

Scott was named Director of the MoonDogs in 2013, in addition to his role at Croix Oil Company. He joined the family business as a full-time employee after graduating from the University of St. Thomas in 2010. Scott received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management in 2015.

greg headshotGeneral Manager – Greg Weis

Greg is entering his seventh year with the MoonDogs, five as the General Manager of the Mankato MoonDogs baseball club. He handles the daily operations of the team, as well as supervises the sales staff and oversees the ball park operations over the course of the baseball season. In January of 2011, Greg started with the MoonDogs as the Assistant General Manager and spent two seasons in that role. He was promoted to GM in January of 2013. Originally from Chanhassen, Weis received his undergraduate degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2010 and received his graduate degree in Sport Management from MSU in May 2014. Weis is also volunteers with the Twin Rivers Council for the Arts, Leisure Education for Exceptional People (LEEP), and  the Greater Mankato Rotary Club. In addition he serves as an adjunct professor for the Sport Management Program at MSU for the subject of Sport Marketing. Greg continues to reside in Mankato along with his wife, Cate!

Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Sales – Kate Froehlich

Originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Kate is entering her fourth year with the Mankato MoonDogs. After previously interning in 2013, she returned in 2015 to work with them full-time. Kate graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in Sport Management and minors in Marketing and Human Resource Management in the spring of 2015. In addition to working at the MoonDogs full-time, she is continuing her education to obtain a Master’s Degree in Sport Management and will graduate in May of 2017. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, and spending time on the lake at her cabin in Holcombe, Wisconsin. kate@mankatomoondogs.com

 

 

Austin LinkAssistant General Manager of Sales and Operations – Austin Link

Originally from Renville, MN Austin will be entering his second season with the MoonDogs. Though only his second seasno, he is no stranger to the Nowrthwoods League. He previously worked for the Willmar Stingers as an intern in 2012. Austin graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in Marketing in the fall of 2014. His other previous experiences include being a Game Presentation intern with the MN Lynx, Stage Manager for the MN Timberwolves, and a Public Relations intern for the MN Vikings. In his spare time he enjoys spending time at the lake, traveling, and anything to do with sports. His career goal is to be a General Manager at the professional level. Group Sales Representative – Tyler Kuch

Tyler, a native of Mankato, is beginning his first season with the MoonDogs as a full-time employee. He is a 2013 graduate of Minnesota State University-Mankato, with a degree in Sport Management and minor in Marketing.  Tyler was an intern for the Pittsfield Suns (MA), of the Futures Collegiate League, during the summers of 2012 and 2013.  He later interned for the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association in Colorado Springs, CO during the fall/winter of 2013/2014.  In his spare time, he likes to play and watch sports, pet any dog that approaches him, and make his friends participate in games he’s created.
