The North Division gets two scoreless innings from Kent, Campbell in 8-5 win

(Rochester, Minn.)– Tuesday, Ryan Boldt (Nebraska), Jeff Campbell (North Dakota), Matt Kent (Texas A&M) and Ryne Roper (Illinois) made their way to Madison, Wis., to play in the Northwoods League Big League Dream Showcase at Warner Park.

The Honkers were well represented in the North Division’s 8-5 win in the game. Ryne Roper grabbed the North’s first hit in the top of the third inning, a base hit to center field, and eventually came around to score. Boldt roamed right field for the North but went hitless in the game; Boldt finished 0-3 while third baseman Roper went 1-4.

Matt Kent pitched a hitless, scoreless second inning, sending his South Division opponents down 1-2-3. Campbell made his way to the mound to help preserve the 8-5 lead in the eighth, and he did so by striking out two in another hitless inning from Honkers pitching.

These Honkers will make their way back to Rochester to prepare for their final home game of the regular season tomorrow, Wednesday, at Mayo Field when they host the St. Cloud Rox at 7:05 p.m. Ticket information can be found at rochesterhonkers.com.
