Slider’s Healthy Thought Today is About Skiing and Snowboarding!

 Did you know…

  • Skiing is based on coordination, balance and flexibility that allow for a more dynamic range of motion and an ultimately better technique.
  • While downhill skiing with light effort , the average person burns up to 430 calories per hour while snowboarding burns up to 450 calories per hour.
  • Snowboarding works out all the major muscle groups in your body and even works some muscles that you may not use often, like the ones in your feet and ankles.
  • Exercising outdoors also helps to elevate mood and reduce anxiety, so both snowboarding and skiing can lower stress levels and support mental health!
