Rochester Honkers Announce Their 2017 Northwoods League Schedule
Honkers 24th Season will consist of 72 games in 76 days!

(Rochester, Minn.)The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today their complete game schedule for the 2017 Northwoods League season.  The Five-Time NWL Champions open their 24th season on Tuesday, May 30, when the Mankato MoonDogs come to Mayo Field for a 7:05 pm first pitch.

The Northwoods League welcomes two new teams this season, the Bismarck Larks and the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, bringing the League’s total to 20 teams. Bismarck will play in the North Division and Fond du Lac in the South Division.

The Rochester Honkers, a member of the North Division, will play a 72 game schedule in 76 days, beginning at home on May 30 and ending at home on August 13.  The Honkers will play all 72 games in their North Division only, 36-home, 36-away.

The 2017 season will see two split double headers with the La Crosse Loggers.  The Honkers will travel to La Crosse, Wisconsin for a 12:05 pm game on June 14 followed by a night game in Rochester at 7:05 pm.  Then on July 26, a 12:05 pm matinee in Rochester will be followed by the nightcap at 7:05 pm in La Crosse.

Rochester Honkers home games will start at 7:05 pm for games Monday through Saturday and Sundays will start at 1:05 pm.  The Honkers will also play two mid-week day games (Thursday, June 29 and Wednesday, July 26) both starting at 12:05 pm.

The League, which plays two halves to determine playoff participants, will end the first half of play on July 4 with the second half beginning the following day. The new playoff format will continue in 2017. Beginning on August 14 the first and second half divisional champions will have home field advantage on the first day of the one-game elimination divisional playoffs. Their opponents will be determined by the two divisional teams remaining with the best overall records. The winners of those games will play against each other the following day in another one-game elimination division championship. With no off-day in between, the North and South Division Champions will then meet in a best-of-three series for the Summer Collegiate World Series from August 16-18.

The 2017 Northwoods League All-Star Game presented by Ascension will be held on Tuesday, July 18 in Wausau, WI. In addition to the All-Star Game itself, the two-day event will also include a banquet, Home Run Derby and Fan Fest.

The Major League Dreams Showcase will take place at Warner Park, in Madison, for its fifth year on August 8, 2017. 

General Admission ticket prices for the Honkers 2017 season will be a flat rate of $8/person, with kids 4 and under admitted for free.  The Honkers will also have two reserved sections behind home plate for $9/seat and Box Seats right up front with wait service are $12.
