What’s your favorite memory while playing for the Rochester Honkers?
AS: I had just finished my first collegiate season at Mizzou and then I came back and hit a home run into the trees in right field in my first game with the Honkers that summer.

What's your favorite non playing memory from your time with the Rochester Honkers (Host Family, Experience, Bus Ride, etc.)
AS: My first one would be when Brett Featherson was was challenged before a game at Mayo Field to stuff as many large marshmallows in his mouth as he could fit at one time. I think he got up to 38 marshmallows before he started drooling marshmallow all over himself and they started falling out.

Who was your favorite teammate when you played for the Rochester Honkers and why?
AS: All of us got along really well. I didn’t have one favorite teammate, however I hung out alot with Shaver Hanson and Tim Rademacher.

What has happened to you since you left Rochester and what are you doing now?
AS: After my two summers with the Honkers, I finished my playing career at Missouri and played three years or professional baseball in the Miami Marlins organization. I had a difficult time staying healthy for those three years and eventually I decided that a better route for me was to go back to school to get my MBA at the University of Missouri. I will complete the masters program next December.

What was your biggest realization while playing for the Rochester Honkers?
AS:
The biggest realization I had was that playing in the Northwoods League was going to be a lot like minor league professional baseball with the bus trips and playing every day.

Do you stay in contact with former teammates? If so, who?
AS:
With social media these days it is fairly easy to stay in touch with some of my former teammates. Every once in a while we will shoot each other a message or call one another if something happens that reminds us of a time when we were teammates on the Honkers.
