GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Rockford Rivets (11-7) took game one of their series with the Green Bay Bullfrogs (7-11), 7-2, Saturday night at Joannes Stadium.

The Rivets trailed 1-0 in the fifth when John Rave (Illinois State) hit a sacrifice fly to center field.

With the game tied 1-1 with two outs in the seventh, Neal Tyrell (Lewis) blooped a two-run single into center field to give the Rivets a 3-1 lead. JC DeMuri (Quincy) was up next and hit a two-run home run over the left field fence. The Rivets scored two more in the inning to take a 7-1 lead.

Rivets starter Jack Granath (Davenport) pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one run with a season-high six strikeouts. Granath (3-1) earned Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night honors and his third straight win. Jared Tobey (Wayne State) (1-1) suffered the loss for the Bullfrogs.

The Bullfrogs added one more run in the ninth, before Dylan Stutsman (Indianapolis) got the final two outs of the game with the bases loaded.

The Rivets play the final game of their four-game road trip Sunday at 3:05 p.m. against the Bullfrogs.
