Major League Dreams Showcase

 

St. Cloud, Minn. – Six players from the St. Cloud Rox were selected to participate in the 2015 Northwoods League Major league Dream Showcase that will be hosted by the Madison Mallards at Warner Park on Tuesday, August 4th. The Rox are represented by the following:

Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota) – Athmann is hitting .273 and leads the Rox with 29 RBIs. His 47 hits are second most on the team and he leads the team with eight hit by pitches. Athmann has score 24 runs on the season. He hit three homeruns in the Northwoods League Home Run Challenge in a winning effort for the North Team on July 21st in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.

Webb Bobo (Southeastern Louisiana University) – Bobo has a batting average of .304, which is second highest on the team. He is second on the team with 28 RBIs and tied for first with four homeruns. He has collected 31 hits while walking 13 times and scoring 14 runs. Bobo leads the team with a .490 slugging percentage and is second with a .398 on base percentage.

Trevor Charpie (University of Nevada, Reno) – Charpie’s 0.83 ERA is the lowest on the Rox. As the closer for the Rox, his eight saves are 5th most in the Northwoods League. He has struck out 36 batters in 32.1 innings while opposing batters have only hit .156 against him in 2015. Charpie threw one pitch in the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star where he recorded one out.

Chris Farish (Wake Forest University) – Farish has primarily been a reliever for the Rox in 2015 where he has struck out 20 batters in 16.2 innings. Farish owns a 3.78 ERA while opposing batters have a batting average of .228 versus him.

Lucas Gilbreath (University of Minnesota) – Gilbreath is 4-0 this season with a 2.05 ERA. His 41 strikeouts are second most on the team while his four wins are also second most on the team. Gilbreath has an ERA of 2.06 while opponents are only batting .180 versus him. On July 27th Gilbreath tossed a one hitter versus the Eau Claire Express where he struck out five batters.

Zach Pop (University of Kentucky) – Pop currently has a record of 4-2 and an ERA of 2.90 in the 2015 season. He has struck out 35 batters in 43.1 innings pitched while opponents are only hitting .214 versus him.

The Rox will travel to Thunder Bay for a two-game series versus the Border Cats today starting at 6:05 p.m.

The Rox will return home on Wednesday, July 29th as they host the Mankato MoonDogs for a doubleheader. Game one is scheduled to begin at 12:05 p.m. Join us for lunch at the Rock Pile. It will be Youth Day presented by Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota.

Game two is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start. The National Entertainment Act “Cowboy Monkey” will be at the Rock Pile presented by Ram Trucks and Brandl Motors.
