          St. Cloud, MN – Six St. Cloud Rox players have been selected to take place in the 2016 Northwoods League Major League Dreams Showcase on August 9 at Warner Park in Madison, Wisconsin. The Rox will be represented by Shelby Lackey (Pacific), Denis Karas (Cal Berkeley), Ricky Ramirez (McNeese State), Luke Ringhofer (South Dakota State), Aaron Rozek (Minnesota State, Mankato), and Logan Salow (Kentucky).

           The annual Showcase will consist of a double-header featuring the top players from the Northwoods League who were selected by a panel of Major League Baseball Scouts.  The players will participate in a day of workouts in front of scouts, which will be followed by the double-header. The Rox will be on the North Division team playing in the first game.

            Lackey has made seven starts for the Rox this year on the mound and holds a 2.84 ERA. In 38.0 innings he has struck out 28 batters while only giving up 16 walks. Opponents are hitting only .225 against him this season, which is the second lowest opponent batting average on the team among starters.

            Karas leads the team with 13 doubles and is hitting .274 in 44 games this season. His 65 total bases ranks second on the team, and his five stolen bases ranks fourth on the team. He has spent most of the season at second or third base and holds a .933 fielding percentage. He has driven in 27 runs and hit two home runs this season.

           Ramirez was named an All-Star for the Rox this season. He leads the team in with 58 hits and holds a .301 batting average. He is tied for the team lead in games played and leads the team in plate appearances. He also leads the team in RBI, runs, and total bases, and is second on the team in doubles and home runs.

           Ringhofer is hitting .297 this season and has drawn 49 walks in 45 games, leading the league in walks. He has nine extra base hits and holds a .477 on base percentage. He was named to the North Division All-Star team earlier this season and impressed in the All-Star game, leading the team with four singles and an RBI.

           Rozek has seen time as a starter and a reliever for the Rox so far this season, holding a record of 2-1 while also picking up a save. He has thrown 27.0 innings in 10 appearances this season, striking out 23 batters. He has only allowed three extra base hits, all of which were doubles, and has only given up 11 earned runs.

          Salow also made the All-Star team this year for the Rox. He leads the team with 58 strikeouts in eight games, and is the fifth player in franchise history to strike out 50 or more batters in a season. His single season strikeout total currently ranks third in franchise history, behind Reese Gregory’s totals of 71 in 2014 and 66 in 2015.

           The Rox will kick off an eight game homestand when they return to Joe Faber Field on Thursday, July 28 to take on the Rockford Rivets. The award winning national entertainment act "ZOOperstars" presented by Plaza Park Bank and Times Media will be at the game entertaining fans. It will also be Rox Pint Glass giveaway number two presented by Beaver Island Brewing Company. The first 400 fans 21 and older will recieve a collector's pint glass.
