St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox had 11 former and current players selected in the Major League Baseball draft this week. The list included current players Jared Solomon and Luke Ringhofer.

Logan Salow (2016 Rox Pitcher, University of Kentucky) was the first former St. Cloud player selected as he was taken in the 6th round by the Oakland Athletics. Salow was a Northwoods League All-Star pitcher in 2016. Four additional former Rox players were taken in the top 10 rounds on Tuesday. Lucas Gilbreath (2015 Rox Pitcher, University of Minnesota) was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 7th round, Zach Pop (2015 Rox Pitcher, University of Kentucky) was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers also in the 7th round. In the 10th round, Denis Karas (2016 Rox Infielder, University of California) was selected by the Miami Marlins and Brian Glowicki (2015-2016 Rox Pitcher, University of Minnesota) was selected by the Chicago Cubs.

On Wednesday six Rox players were drafted. Current Rox pitcher Jared Solomon (Lackawanna College) was selected in the 11th round by the Cincinnati Reds and catcher Luke Ringhofer (South Dakota State) was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 22nd round. Additionally, Matt Shannon (2016 Rox Pitcher, Angelo State) was taken by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 12th round, Brandon Benson (2015-2016 Rox Infielder, Georgia College) was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 20th round, Brett Pope (2015-2016 Rox Infielder, Western Carolina University) was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 22nd round and Harrison Wenson (2014 Rox Catcher, University of Michigan) was selected in the 24th round by the Los Angeles Angels.

In total the Rox have had 45 players selected in the Major League Baseball draft since 2013, including 2016 1st round pick Will Craig.

The Rox return home on Saturday, June 17th against the La Crosse Loggers for Rox Baseball Cap Giveaway presented by Franklin Outdoor Advertising. The first 250 fans through the gate will receive a special edition Rox cap!
