Kay sliding into second

The Eau Claire Express (24-19, 8-2) train powered their way past the Thunder Bay Border Cats (15-29, 1-8) by a 10-2 margin in action at TBaytel Park. The Express outhit the Cats by a 15-4 gap.

Brian Mundell and Lane Milligan each knocked in 3 RBI's and the 3-6 hitters combined to 10-21 for the Express.

Jordan Serena (Columbia University) and Sal Taormina (Kean University) knocked in RBI's in a losing effort for the Cats.

Express Starter Jeremy Bagnell worked seven innings to up his record to 4-2. He allowed four hits and the two runs, walking a pair and striking out three.

Border Cat Starter Wes Helsabeck (Winston Salem State) dropped to 0-3 as he was roughed up in the opening inning.

The Border Cats next host the Alexandria Blue Anchors starting at 6:05pm EDT on Saturday night at TBaytel Park. 

BORDER NEWS: Two Border Cats were named to the 2014 All-Star team. Catcher Christian Correa (Nicholls State) and Left Fielder Tyler Rolland (Southern Illinois University) were voted by coaches and media around the league. Correa is hitting .286 with 2 home runs and 13 RBI's with a slugging percentage of .440. Rolland the reliable outfielder is hitting a .301 clip with one long ball and 14 driven in. He is second on the ball club with an on-base percentage of .443
