CATS WIN IN EXTRA INNINGS  

The Thunder Bay Border Cats went for one extra inning and came out on top with a 10-6 victory against the Wisconsin Woodchucks Saturday night at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Tyler Green (Vanderbilt) earned his first home run as in a Border Cat uniform in the top of the tenth inning, the two run shot highlighted the four run inning for Thunder Bay. Green had a total of three runs on two hits with two RBI’s in the win, while league leader Jared James (Long Beach) also notched one run on three hits and three RBI’s bringing his average up to .374.

Starting pitcher Yuji Suzuki (Concordia) went the first 2.2 innings allowing four runs on two hits while striking out one. Jimmy Murphy (Fordham) picked up his first win of the season allowing only two runs on five hits while striking out five over the last 7.1 innings.

The Cats look to sweep the Woodchucks Sunday night at 5:05pm CST / 6:05pm EST.
